When choosing your photography session, one of the first decisions is whether to shoot outdoors or in the studio. Both settings can create stunning portraits… the difference lies in the mood, lighting and overall experience you want.
Outdoor sessions are perfect for those who love a natural, relaxed atmosphere. The light shifts beautifully throughout the day, giving photos a soft, organic glow. I often photograph in the bushland and countryside around Shepparton’s earthy landscapes that are filled with native plants that complement neutral tones and soft textures beautifully. Outdoor sessions allow freedom to move, explore and express personality - plus children especially tend to feel more comfortable in open spaces.
Studio sessions are another signature experience that I offer. The lighting is fully controlled, allowing for precision and artistry that can’t always be achieved outdoors. I design each setup with intention (from the backdrops to the direction of light) creating portraits that are elegant, cinematic and artistic. Studio sessions are ideal for maternity portraits, creative concepts or for anyone who prefers a polished, editorial look.
Ultimately, both settings can be extraordinary… it simply depends on the story you want to tell. Whether it’s the warmth and authenticity of natural light or the refined control of a studio environment, I’ll guide you through every step to ensure your portraits reflect both your personality and my signature style.
